Terms of use

The agreement between you and Echo Wizard when you create an account. Plain English, as short as it can be.

1. Who we are

Echo Wizard is run by Diogo Martins. You can reach us at the contact address (switch on JavaScript to see it). By creating an account you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy.

2. Who can use it

Echo Wizard is for fully trained echocardiographers, cardiac physiologists and cardiologists, and for people training under their supervision. You must be 18 or over. An account is for one person. Do not share your sign-in.

3. What the service does, and what it does not

Echo Wizard drafts report wording from the measurements and findings you enter. It is a writing aid. It does not diagnose, does not decide treatment, and is not a medical device. You remain responsible for every number you enter and every line that goes into a report. Check each suggestion against the images and your local guidelines before you use it. Research tools are labelled as research and must not be used as the clinical conclusion.

The cut-offs follow published guidelines, which are named on each tool. Guidelines change, and we update the tools when we can, but we cannot promise that every tool reflects the latest version on the day you use it.

4. Membership and payment

5. Referrals

Every member has a referral code. A colleague who signs up with it starts with 60 days free, and you get 60 days added once they confirm their email. Referral days are credited for up to six referrals in any 12 months. Referral days have no cash value. Accounts created only to collect referral days may be removed.

6. Fair use

Do not try to copy the tools' logic or cut-offs in bulk, scrape the service, get around the membership, probe for security weaknesses without permission, or use it to break the law. We may suspend an account that does, and we will tell you why.

7. Your content and ours

The text, tools, posters and design of Echo Wizard belong to us or the people who licensed them to us. Report text the tools draft for you is yours to use in your reports. Measurements you type are not stored; see the privacy policy.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service running, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. We may add, change or retire tools. If we remove something central to the membership, we will tell you and you may cancel with a refund for the unused part of the year.

9. Liability

The service is provided as it is. Because you check and sign every report, we are not responsible for clinical decisions, reports or outcomes based on text the tools drafted. Our total liability to you for anything else connected with the service is limited to what you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Ending the agreement

You can delete your account at any time from the account page, which also stops billing. We may close an account that breaks these terms, after warning you where we reasonably can.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, members will be told by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring a claim in your own courts.
